Who We Are

The WGSD Foundation was founded in 1988 as a non-profit organization. While operating independently from the Webster Groves School District, the Foundation works closely with the District to support academic programs, professional development, scholarships and other projects that cannot be provided for through traditional public funding sources.

The Foundation achieves its mission through individual and corporate tax-deductible donations. All monies raised by the Foundation are used to benefit Webster Groves School District students.

The Board of Directors consists of 15 to 20 volunteers who attend monthly board meetings during the school year, serve on at least one of the Board's committees, and assist with the Foundation's special events.

Our Mission

The Webster Groves School District Foundation is dedicated to a tradition of academic excellence by expanding dynamic learning opportunities that impact student success.

The Webster Groves School District Foundation engages in three different activities:

Awards Grants

The Foundation promotes “Expanding Learning Opportunities” by awarding grants to help teachers and staff implement their ideas for reaching and teaching students in creative, dynamic and innovative ways. Major Grants are awarded annually. Mini-grants are awarded on a monthly basis throughout the school year.

Raises Funds

The Foundation raises funds through events including the annual golf tournament, the Ivory Crockett Run”4” Webster, and the Food for Thought benefit. The Foundation also solicits funds through its Annual Campaign and teacher tribute programs.

Builds Support for Schools

The Foundation builds support for WGSD schools through outreach events like ChiliFest, as well as communicates with the community about the many positive programs taking place in Webster schools.
